Shay is a Poet, Rapper, Beat-Boxer, Producer and Community Music Leader. He specialises in Urban Music and Technology with a focus on social topics and heritage.
Shay has worked with organisations such as Leicestershire Music Hub, Pedestrian Arts, Breakin Convention, Curve Theatre and The Prince's Trust to lead community music projects and to implement innovative units of work into primary and secondary music education.
In 2011, Shay founded The Underground Creatives (www.undergroundcreatives.co.uk) , a social enterprise which specialises in delivering Music and Media projects in community and school settings. The Underground Creatives is fuelled by collaboration between artists from various backgrounds to produce a diverse range of live and digital shows, workshops and projects.
As an independent artist, Shay is known as Mr Shay and regularly releases music with a keen eye on creating unique looking visuals. He has collaborated with local rap artists such as Leicester’s, Jafro and Deelite MC, as well as internationally, with India’s well known electronic producer Bandish Projekt, with heavy endorsement from BBC Asian Network’s, Bobby Friction.
