Resources | Community
Community Music is an inclusive approach to music-making that enables people to develop their musical, personal and social skills. TiME works with our partners to support inclusive music-making and provide learning and development opportunities for organisations, music leaders and young people.
Inclusion involves organisations, educators and participants creating musical experiences and pathways appropriate to individual needs and interests. Musical Inclusion is Access, Equity, and Community.
In community settings, music technology is often at the very heart of the work, through recording, production, beat making, sampling and adaptive and accessible music technology. Music Technology enables educators and participants to work in contemporary styles and across genres, providing relatable and relevant interest and technical skills for today's young musicians and producers.

Funders of community music projects
There are many fantastic organisations who support inclusive music projects, these include: The National Foundation for Youth Music, Arts Council England, Music for All, Esmee Fairbairn and Paul Hamlyn. There are also many other charitable Trusts and Foundations, and without funding from these organisations there would be thousands of children, young people and marginalised communities who would never have the chance to take part and benefit from engagement in music.
This short film charts a young music leaders journey from participant to music leader. Experienced music mentors share their insights of working in Community Music.
