Tricia has 20 years experience of curriculum design for vocational qualifications with in Further Education and Specialist Arts Colleges and was Line Lead for the Creative & Media Diploma in Erewash Derbyshire responsible for with connecting education with professionals from the cultural sector to create ‘real life’ learning experiences beyond the classroom.

She is a firm believer that real work based learning’s develops critical thinking, problem solving and decision making , leading to deeper understanding of the subject they are studying.

Tricia left education in 2012 and founded Offshoot East Midlands CIC to create projects that agrees identified community need. She works closely with communities who are experiencing challenging circumstances and barriers for individuals to realise their full potential in life.

Projects are written through consultation with groups and individuals who play an integral part in designing projects with a focus on identify and utilising community assists - Projects written by the community for the community.

Tricia is particularly interested in supporting Young People and recognises the importance of including them as meaningful contributors in the social and economic aspects of community building . Offshoots’ Award Winning, Youth Music Funded Circle of Light project for Young People 18 - 25 is a prime example of this. The project has seen the group of participants grow into young innovators, where they have set up and run their own record label to facilitate the release of their music to include an annual album, run a Circle of Light recording studio, achieve local and national awards and secure funding for their ‘Between You & Me Podcast’ - A podcast providing a platform for Young People to have a voice about Arts, Culture, Heritage & Wellbeing.
