Shay Sharma and Dubler session at Connectivity on Sept 22nd

Workshops with Shay Sharma are always fun and we are looking forward to Shay’s session using the Dubler voice to midi tech from Vochlea. Shay is a Poet, Rapper, Beat-Boxer, Producer and Community Music Leader. He specialises in Urban Music and Technology with a focus on social topics and heritage.

Shay works across both formal and informal music education, and in 2011 founded The Underground Creatives, a social enterprise which specialises in delivering Music and Media projects in community and school settings. Through his work with Leicestershire Music hub, Shay has created and delivered a range of innovative units of work and Youtube Learning sessions for primary and secondary music education.

The Dubler 2 is a game-changing standalone desktop app that transforms your voice into any musical instrument. Perfect for creating melodies, drum beats and chord progression even if you are a total beginner - if you can hum, sing, beatbox or whistle than you can compose with the Dubler 2 app. Through the TiME testers programme Shay has been working with the team at Vochlea to use the Dubler 2 software in a range of settings and to learn more about how this can extend access to music making. Shay is currently developing a set of resources to support music making activities using the Dubler 2 and these will be available on the TiME website to download soon.
