Founded in 2016, Education and Bass provides a comprehensive range of accredited and non-accredited music production courses available both online and in person. Their work supports learners of all abilities across mainstream, SEND, community and alternative education settings.
Highlights include:
The Education and Bass RSL Graded Syllabus course (EBRSL)
This structured, skills-based programme leads learners through RSL Music Production, grades 1 to 6, with grades 7 and 8 in development. Delivered through a dedicated Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), the EBRSL course includes comprehensive resources, real-time support, and step-by-step guidance to help learners achieve creative and technical milestones. Adaptable to any digital audio workstation (DAW) and suitable for all music genres, coursework and examinations are completed entirely online.
Online Music Production Afterschool Clubs
Led by experienced educators, these afterschool sessions inspire and support participants in developing key music production skills. Ideal for singers, rappers, and songwriters, the clubs cover DAW usage, sound design, beat-making fundamentals, audio and MIDI sequencing, beginner music theory, vocal and instrumental recording techniques, and mixing and mastering processes.
Online Masterclasses and Tutorials
An extensive library of self-paced learning materials covers music production fundamentals, DAW basics, and advanced techniques. Specialised courses explore genres such as Drum & Bass, Dubstep, EDM, Hip Hop, and more, providing in-depth guidance tailored to individual interests.
Andrew Ferguson DJ
Founded by Andrew Ferguson, Education and Bass brings extensive experience across schools, colleges, universities, youth organisations, and prison education. With a career spanning over 30 years as an international touring DJ and music producer, Andrew also holds a master’s degree in advanced music technology and a PGCE teaching qualification. His expertise underpins the organisation’s education programmes, supported by a team of accomplished music industry professionals, producers, DJs, and educators. Their expertise spans international touring, chart success, label management, and pioneering education initiatives.
