TiME responds positively to the revised National Plan for Music Education (NPME)
Technology in Music Education UK (TiME) welcomes the publication of the revised National Plan for Music Education (NPME). Kate Rounding, TiME Development Manager, comments, "We’re really pleased to see the increased focus on Music Technology reflected throughout the plan. It is also good to see a firm commitment to providing essential funding to support all areas of music education, including CPD, training and equipment."
Since 2018 TiME has worked alongside Music Hubs and Music Services to raise awareness of the importance of music technology, and to directly make recommendations to the DfE. We are delighted to have been recognised in the document and to see these shared goals reflected in the revised plan.
We are already working on Music Technology CPD sessions that will be offered to Music Hubs and Music Services. These will cover questions such as how you implement the NPME for schools and set up Music Technology training within your Hubs/Services, as well as sessions on what hardware and software to use.
